Welcome to Save the Primates where "one small action helps a big cause."
This website was created so that I can help save primates worldwide but specifically Mountain Gorillas in the Congo. Sadly they are endangered, and there are approximately 700-800 left in the entire world. That is devastating. It is my goal to raise money to help conserve their population and teach others about how important they are to our world. Gorillas are special animals because they are very similar to us. Did you know that they share 98% of the same DNA as humans? Isn't that amazing? They are also similar to us in the following ways:
If you are interested in helping me, please visit my Current Fundraiser page on this site. I also ask that you share it page on any social media sites you have: FaceBook, Twitter, e-mail, etc. so that you can use publicity to help me spread the word about these amazing animals. The gorillas and I thank you for your help. |
Trajan was featured on the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International's Blog!
I had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Tara Stoinski, President and CEO/Chief Scientist of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International, on my birthday when she came to the OKC Zoo and Botanical Garden. After speaking with her for 30 minutes or so, she said that they might like to feature my fundraising story on their blog and social media sites. I am excited to say that they did!
